Personal Notes: I attended the reunion and discovered that I was pupil 225 - or thereabouts - at the school in March 1937 when I was five. I continue to live locally. Now retired after a career in the City and then in editing, I have been a magistrate at Redbridge Magistrates' Court for the past 22 years. I was Bench Chairman for five years from 1996 and continue to sit. I am a Non-executive Director on the North East London Mental Health Trust which takes me to units from Waltham Forest to Brentwood, chairing appeals from patients against Section and visiting wards to meet with patients and staff. I am Chairman of the Aldborough Hatch Defence Association, which has fought battles over the years against further gravel exctraction on Fairlop Plain and is currently awaiting the outcome of the public inquiry in which Wiggins PLC appealed against refusal of planning permission for the London City Racecourse at Fairlop Waters. We spoke against the proposal for a 20,000 seater stand which would kill the local green belt. I have been a member of St. Peter's Church since 1944 and until recently sang in the choir. Married to Yvonne for 44 years, we have three children and three grandchildren.
